Safeguarding

Access Theatre makes a positive contribution to a strong and safe community and recognises the right of every individual to stay safe.

Access Theatre is committed to taking the wellbeing of vulnerable adults into account in all the company’s activities and to respecting the rights, wishes and feelings of all people with whom we work. Everyone working in the company on a paid or unpaid basis has a responsibility to ensure that all company members are protected from harm at all times.

To this end all theatre company members are made aware of and expected to follow a Code of Conduct. Similarly, all volunteers, visitors and carers present in Access Theatre sessions are issued with a Volunteers and Carers Code of Conduct.

Photos and video clips may be used on the Access Theatre website and Access Facebook page, in newsletters and publications as well as distributed to members. Individuals must consent for their image to be used and a Photographic / Media Consent Form is made available to everyone.

A full copy of Access Theatre’s Safeguarding Policy is available on request.

All allegations or suspicions of abuse must be referred to a senior volunteer with Safeguarding responsibility (Sarah Pym or Pam Lamb). Jackie Blank, Chair of Trustees is designated Trustee for company Safeguarding Policy and Procedure.
